>>Here<< is a simple Gantt chart created using conditional formatting. You can use it as is or further develop it. Below is a brief instruction on how to use the chart.

What is a Gantt Chart?

A Gantt chart is a visual representation method used to plan and schedule projects or activities over time. Gantt charts are useful for providing an overview of the project’s timeline and for helping project managers and teams schedule and track tasks. Many project management tools and software offer Gantt chart features to facilitate project planning and monitoring. Unfortunately, Excel does not include Gantt charts, so you have to create your own.

There are essentially two main ways to construct a Gantt chart in Excel: either as a chart or a schedule that uses conditional formatting.

Which is better of the two? It depends on the situation. If you want to create something quick and simple, the chart option is the best. If you instead want to create something more dynamic and robust, conditional formatting is preferable.
