The FORECAST function can predict future sales given previous numbers. Here we have a list of periods, and how much is sold per period.
In order to find the predicted sales numbers for periods 13 through 16, we’ll write Equals, FORECAST, select the period for which we want the sales, select the previous sales, make them an absolute reference, select the periods for those sales, and make them absolute as well.
We are given the predicted sales number for period 13.
If we drag down, we’ll receive the sales numbers for each of the missing periods.
This lesson has shown the FORECAST function, which returns a predicted sales number based on previous sales numbers.
